NetMagen Vision runs on Linux: Ubuntu on x86-64, and the Raspberry Pi 5 and 4.

Added

• **Linux (x86-64):** a .deb package for Ubuntu 22.04 or newer. Install it with sudo apt install ./netmagen-vision_1.3.0_amd64.deb; the app is the same as on Windows, with the same pages and settings. After the first run it starts with your session; where the desktop has a tray it lives there, otherwise closing the window minimises it and the app stays running.
• **Raspberry Pi (64-bit ARM):** a .deb package for the Pi 5 and the Pi 4 (8 GB) on Ubuntu 24.04 or newer; it also installs on other Debian-based 64-bit systems with glibc 2.39 or newer (verified on Kali Linux Rolling). Recording is cheap on a Pi - streams are copied, not decoded - so it records as many cameras as its network allows; live viewing is a few tiles at a time (the Pi has no hardware H.264 decoding), and face and plate detection run on the CPU.
• **Video on Linux** plays through the distribution's mpv (0.34 or newer, installed as a dependency of the package), one process per tile, embedded in the app's windows. The app needs an X11 session: on a Wayland-only session it runs and records, but video tiles say VIDEO NEEDS X11 and explain how to log into an X11 session.
• The download page and the netmagen.com landing page now offer the three versions - Windows, Linux, Raspberry Pi - in one picker that highlights the one for the computer you are on.

Changed

• Folders and links open through the operating system on every platform, and a failed open is reported instead of ignored. A desktop notification that cannot be shown no longer affects anything else.
• Camera details sent to the phone app no longer include file paths from the recorder.
• The recorder no longer creates an empty tray.log next to its logs on Windows.

Notes

• **Windows users:** nothing changes in how the app works; the installer is rebuilt from the same code. Upgrades still replace the bundled runtime - if you installed GPU acceleration, re-install it from Settings after upgrading.
• **GPU acceleration for detection** comes pre-installed in the Linux x86-64 package (there is no Install button). There is none for 64-bit ARM: detection runs on the CPU, and the Settings page says so.
• **Phone live view** from a recorder without an NVIDIA GPU (every Raspberry Pi) is encoded in software with libx264.
• Upgrading on Linux is sudo apt install ./netmagen-vision_1.3.0_<arch>.deb over the installed version; recordings and configuration stay in place. Removing the package keeps them too.
• Not supported: Ubuntu 20.04 (its mpv is too old), 32-bit systems, and Raspberry Pi OS based on Debian 12 (its glibc is too old for the ARM package).
