Bypass deliberately excludes a chosen alarm zone, while force arming asks the control panel to arm despite an open or faulted zone. The panel’s configuration determines whether a force-armed zone remains excluded or becomes active after its condition clears.
Trace a persistent alarm tamper fault by identifying the reported circuit, checking every cover and tamper switch on it, inspecting its connections and wiring, then resetting and verifying the alarm control panel only after the physical fault has been corrected.
Plan what each alarm, fault and state change should make people and equipment do. Only then should you program the inputs, outputs, delays, notifications and reset behaviour that deliver those responses.
Use a dedicated zone for each detector when clear identification and easy fault diagnosis matter. Share a zone only when reporting the group is sufficient and the wiring, supervision and future servicing have been deliberately planned.
After a power surge, stop if you find heat, smoke, burnt smells or damaged power equipment. Otherwise, restore power and network devices in dependency order. Then check camera playback, alarm detectors, system clocks and remote alerts separately. A live image or working keypad does not confirm that the whole system is operating correctly.
